(Teaching Affairs Division,Jilin Institute of Physical Education,Changchun 130022,China) Abstract: From the perspectives of history and philosophy, by analyzing political factors revealed under ancient Greek competition under the city-state system, ancient Roman competition symbolizing imperial glory, cavalier competition under the chivalry system in the Middle Ages, modern Olympic competition revived and circuitously developed in modern times, and the “nationwide system” for competition in China today, the author sorted out the context of history development of competition politicization, expatiated on close relations existing between compe-tition that bases its essential attribute on games and politics in various development periods, clarified the estrange-ment of competition from its intrinsic essential attribute when it served political purposes, and pointed out the dia-lectical relations of mutual dependence between completion and politics.
