(School of Sports and Leisure,Guangdong Ocean University,Zhanjiang 524088,China) Abstract: Having studied amateur tennis games emerging in China over the past decade, the author revealed the fol-lowing findings: tennis games have been transformed from “noble games” to “white collar games” and then to “civilian games”; the more people participate in such games, the higher the prizes will be; there are more and more game varie-ties, groups and participating cities. The author also put forward the following opinions: in order to develop amateur tennis games in China there must be a lot of tennis lovers; game designs should be popular, humanized and internation-alized whenever possible; the establishment of city game stations should be planned nationwide, etc. Key words: sports sociology;amateur tennis game;China |
