(1.School of Physical Education,Xuzhou Normal University,Xuzhou 221116,China;2.School of Wushu,Shanghai University of Sport,Shanghui 200438,China) Abstract: After the reform of competitive Wushu, competitive Taijiquan and fencing competitions got the priority to achieve social recognition, behind which there were a series of conflicts and recognition. Conflicts lie in the fol-lowings: difficult moves of Changquan were blended into competitive Taijiquan, which were difficult for traditional Wushu practicers to accept for the time being, and they thought that these moves deviated from the connotation of Taijiquan; moreover, competitive Taijiquan based on such a special environment as competition court potentially adjusted the order of function presentation and highlighted refereeing and performance, which was also contrary to traditional recognition. Recognition lies in the followings: from the perspective of appreciation, the audience ac-cepted the aesthetical exceeding of competitive Taijiquan; from the perspective of communication, competitive Tai-jiquan showed up on TV programs from time to time, spreading its influence; from the perspective of time, the pub-lic gradually accepted or smoothed controversies once existing in the industry; furthermore, the social status of competitive Taijiquan was constantly lifted during smoothing.
