(1.Department of Physical Education,Normal College,Shenzhen University,Shenzhen 518060,China;2.Department of Foreign Languages Teaching and Research,Guangzhou Sport University,Guangzhou 510500,China) Abstract: In relevant researches on the relations between income inequality and health, foreign scholars have estab-lished theories such as the hypothesis of absolute income, the hypothesis of relative income, the hypothesis of dep-rivation, the hypothesis of relative status, the hypothesis of income inequality etc. There are only few researches in this area in China, especially, there are really rare researches on the sport area. The author pointed out the directions of research on the relations between income inequality and population health in the sport area: multiple discipline coordinated researches, selection and innovation of health measurement methods, valuing the application of empiri-cal methods, and valuing researches based on the data of individual health levels.
