(1.Department of Physical Education,Shenzhen Polytechnic,Shenzhen 518055,China;2.Culture Institute,Lanzhou University of Technology,Lanzhou 730000,China) Abstract: The authors reviewed the existence and popularization of polo in the Han dynasty, did an analysis by utilizing polo playing graphics in paintings made on bricks used for the Tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty which was excavated in Suining (Huailing), Jiangsu, and used such new evidence to verify that polo had already been popular in the Central China region in the Eastern Han dynasty, thus provided fairly valuable new information for the study of the history of polo.
