(Institute of Sports Scientific Research,Zhejiang University of Technology,Hangzhou 310023,China) Abstract: Tennis professionalization reform was launched for tennis in China in 2003, starting with the women’s event; since the Tennis Management Center allowed “solo” in 2008, a “dual track system” management mode of “the nationwide system” plus “solo” has been formed so far. After the dual track system management mode was adopted for the women’s tennis event in China, solo players made brilliant achievements in many games, but the degree of professionalization and competitive performance of women’s tennis in China were still not high. Today’s dual track system management mode is the product of gaming between the appeal for professionalization reform and the nationwide system, its background is that solo players face tremendous pressure and challengers from young players growing up under the nationwide system. The dual track system is only a management mode explored for the women’s tennis event, but not the direction of development of sports system reform in China. The way to sports professionalization reform in China still needs to be further explored.
