| （Department of Wushu，Tianjin University of Sport，Tianjin 300381，China） Abstract: Based on the formation and development of traditional Wushu schools in China, coupled with era char-acteristics and social needs nowadays, the authors analyzed the possible trend of development of traditional Wushu schools in China, put forward the following opinions: social needs require that the extrinsic rituals of Wushu be blended with its intrinsic spirits; lifestyle changing requires that the survival of boxing schools correspond with the development of the era; competition systems require that traditional technical systems fit sports development pat-terns, and therefrom proposed that we should treat the inheritance and innovation of traditional Wushu correctly ac-cording to the objective patterns of development of things.
