(School of Law,Tsinghua University,Beijing 100084,China) Abstract: Professional sports corruption in China includes not only reflections of social corruption in the profes-sional sports area, but also problems intrinsically existing in the birth and development of professional sports. Its main signs are ill-willed wrong and missed calls and game manipulation made by referees, stimulant usage, athlete qualification forgery, sports gambling etc. Whereas in terms of related legislations currently effective in China, no matter sports law, administrative regulations, or civil law, criminal law, their functions in professional sports anti-corruption are very limited. We should perfect the professional sports anticorruption system in China, intensify legal regulations on professional sports corruption in China and gradually realize objectives for professional sports legal construction in China by revising Sports Law, establishing Professional Sports Regulations and Regulations on Anti-Unfair Competition in Sports Games, perfecting sports society constitutions, adding a “relaxation and sports game manipulation crime” into the criminal law, establishing a sports arbitration system etc. Key words: sports law;professional sports;competitive sports;corruption;legal regulations |
