(1.School of Physical Education,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510640,China;2.Department of Physical Education,Guangdong Petroleum Chemical Industry College,Maoming 525000,China) Abstract: Basing their research subject on high performance athlete alumni of South China University of Technol-ogy, the authors investigated their enrollment, academic performance, employment and job adaptation as well as the university’s teaching management by means of hosting university reunions, and revealed the following findings: the academic performance of these high performance athlete students was much poorer than that of ordinary students; it was fairly difficult for the university to carry out teaching management on them; however, they adapted quite well to their employment, and their employment rate, salary level and job competence degree were high; moreover, their abilities to work and to adapt to a new environment were stronger than those of ordinary students; they were more adaptive to specialties in the literal arts category; however, due to their poor cultural foundation, their follow-up de-velopment was somewhat restricted. The authors suggested that the educational management of a high performance college sports team should realize sustainable development under the precondition to ensure students’ right to learn.
