| （Department of Physical Education，Jishou University，Jishou 416002，China) Abstract: By means of field investigation, the authors interpreted Wushu culture contained in Anshun local drama, and revealed the following findings: as for Anshun local drama originated from a military ritual in the Ming dynasty, its purpose is rehearsing military actions, its main content is martial plays, it has both the tendency of turning Wushu routines into procedures and the characteristics of dramatic fights; not only its fights are performed by using real blades and guns, but also even its masks are highlighted with martial charm; its drum and gong accompaniments render a strong atmosphere of war; since it has such a characteristic as integrating amusing others, amusing selves, praying to God and keeping fit, it keeps its original style in the Ming dynasty up to this day, which provides direct evidence for studying Wushu development; it deserves to be called as an excellent Wushu cultural legacy.
