| (Jiangxi University of Finance & Economics，Nanchang 330013，China) Abstract: General patterns of and international experiences in physical education discipline development have provided in-spirations and reference for the physical education discipline in China to get out of its current predicament. In order to promote the physical education discipline, China must learn from American and European experiences in physical education discipline management and physical education career management, build a huge network of academic organizations, establish diversi-fied research institutions, innovate on the physical education teaching system, construct an information center that supports physical education discipline development in China, optimize book and magazine publication, establish the fundamental status of the discipline, build an scientific standard system, and exert the leading function of academic research.
