(Education Research Center of Physical Education and Sanitation and Art,National Institute of Educational Sciences,Beijing 100088,China)Abstract: Starting with “strengthening physical education lessons” put forward by the 3rd plenary session of the 18th conference of the Communist Party of China, the author focused on probing into physical education teaching quality connotation, affecting factor and evaluation factor related issues, tried to clarify such concepts as physical education teaching quality and physical education teaching quality evaluation which tend to be mixed up. Physical education teaching quality is the comprehensive embodiment of physical education teaching effects, mainly composed of various objective factors which reflect students’ learning effects, referring to teaching results rather than teaching processes. Physical education teaching quality evaluation is not equal to physical education teaching evaluation; physical education teaching quality affecting factors differ from physical education teaching evaluation factors. En-hancing physical education teaching quality can be started with aspects characterized by “comprehensive, new, real” etc, and the relativity of physical education teaching quality improvement should be fully considered.
