| （Teaching and Reseach Department of Ball，Guangzhou Sport University，Guangzhou 510500，China) Abstract: Baseball exiting the Olympic Games has brought serious challenges to baseball development worldwide, while Guangdong baseball faces a choice of its development direction. In order to learning something beneficial from Taiwan’s experience of success in baseball development, and to boost baseball development in Guangdong, the author carried out a comparative analysis on the courses and current situations of baseball development in Guang-dong and Taiwan, and via comparison revealed that with a weak mass foundation, inadequate field construction, fund shortage, as well as incomplete organization and management system, competition system and talent cultiva-tion system, Guangdong baseball had fallen far behind Taiwan. Opportunities should be brought to baseball devel-opment in Guangdong by learning from the experience of baseball development in Taiwan, dialectically looking at the influence brought to Guangdong baseball by baseball exiting the Olympic Games, utilizing existing conditions, and basing the key on university baseball development.
