| （School of Physical Education and Health，Zhaoqing University，Zhaoqing 526061，China) Abstract: The author analyzed the practical teaching of the social sports guidance and management major in uni-versities in China, put forward that the lack of an on-campus training base over a long period of time had seriously affected college professional cultivation quality, probed into the necessity and feasibility to build an on-campus training base for the social sports guidance and management major in universities, and revealed the following find-ings: the construction of an on-campus training base is a need of a university for deepening teaching reform and de-velopment; an on-campus training base is an effective platform for a university to cultivate application type sports professionals; universities have the strength and ability to build an on-campus training base; the operation of an on-campus training base is quite feasible, beneficial to combining with scientific research.
