(Department of Physical Education,Peking University,Beijing 100871,China) Abstract: By investigating and analyzing the building of a high performance sports team by 27 institutions of higher learning in Beijing, the authors summarized their experiences in 6 aspects: the leaders should focus on spe-cific implementation instead of empty talks about their concerns; the mode of cultivation should be changed from independent cultivation to win-win cooperation; objective setting should be scientific and accurate; the relationship between cultural learning and physical training was dealt with correctly; a role model was set up for athletes by means of postgraduate cultivation; funds were raised through multiple channels.
