However, for the longest time, the academic circle in China has only researches on Chuiwan being spread eastward into Japan. Although there was such a view as that Chuiwan was spread into Korean Peninsula, there was no detailed study about the specific spreading time, path and its development form. By restor-ing related literature in Anal of Joseon Dynasty, the author revealed that putter was called as stroke at the very be-ginning, and called as stroke, hitter and putter in a mixed way later on. Putter, which was very similar to the game method, rules and gadget of Chuiwan, was introduced by envoys into Korean Peninsula from China in the first year of Yaejo in the Joseon Dynasty era. After booming for more than 150 years from the Jeongjong of Joseon era to the Sejo of Joseon era, under the cultural background of Confucian and courtesy advocating, the “Sundry Arts Banning” movement launched by the Sarim school made putter decline gradually.
