(1.School of Physical Education,South China Normal University,Guangzhou 510006,China;2.Hong Kong International Guoshu Association,Hong Kong) Abstract: Starting with the formation of Hong Kong Wushu culture after Hong Kong was founded in 1841, the au-thors sorted and dissected the development stages and cultural characteristics of Hong Kong Wushu. Hong Kong Wushu culture has diversified cultural traits, which are different from Chinese and western culture fusion as well as southern and northern culture combination in mainland China. This is mainly that the interaction of colonial culture and island culture over a long period of time has caused cultural development to form such intrinsic motives as “marginalization” and “centralization”, as well as “derivatization” and “isolation”, so that under the influence of the grand environment in which Chinese and western cultures communicate as well as traditional and modern cultures intersect, Hong Kong Wushu shows intense nationalistic attributes, and in the mean time, has distinct characteristics such as rich citizen flavor, high degree of commercialization, coexistence of high degree of cultural fusion and original ecology, diversified ways of development and communication. Therefore, the authors pointed out the fol-lowings: such an opening and diversified development structure has given Hong Kong Wushu innovation possibili-ties and long lasting vitality; studying and protecting the ecological structure of Hong Kong Wushu culture is sig-nificant for the overall nurturing of Wushu culture nowadays.
