(Department of Physical Education,Guangdong University of Education,Guangzhou 510303,China)Abstract: The Teacher Education Curriculum Standard (Trial) establishes such basic conceptions as people-oriented education, practice orientation and lifetime learning, which have respective specific connotations, putting forward new requirements for the professional development of elementary and middle school physical education teachers. The construction of the three-dimensional objective system of the professional development of elementary and mid-dle school physical education teachers in service needs to focus on personalized customization on the basis of blending the horizontal and vertical dimensions. The setup of the curriculum system should turn to cluster develop-ment under the precondition of intensifying people-oriented practice orientation. Characteristics, such as in service, retrospective, organizational structure diversified and training form diversified, require that the ways to realize the professional development of elementary and middle school physical education teachers be optimized and integrated.
