(Department of Sports Education Training,Shanghai University of Sport,Shanghai 200438,China) Abstract: From physical education specialized curriculum programs used by 30 institutions, the authors collated courses in the teacher education category in terms of structure, type and content etc, and revealed that currently courses in the physical education teacher education category had problems in the following 4 aspects: the types of courses opened were complicated, their credit proportions were relatively low; the course forms were undiversified, theory dis-engaged from practice; content scopes were ambiguous, the knowledge was out-of-date and repeated; practice opportu-nities were insufficient, management processes were loose. According to the education spirit guided by “twin stan-dards”, and the need of teacher professional development and basic education physical education curriculum reform, the authors proposed that related institutions should increase the credit proportions of courses in the physical education teacher education category, build a teacher education category curriculum system, integrate existing knowledge con-tents, expand study areas, establish and practice a global view, and diversify classroom teaching forms.
