(Sports Scientific Research,Zhejiang University of Technology,Hangzhou 310014,China) Abstract: By means of field interview and information from ancient books, the author investigated the inheritance tracks and modern development difficulties of Neijiaquan in east Zhejiang, and drew the following conclusions: so far, there is a lack of historical evidence supporting the story that ZHANG San-feng created Neijiaquan, while the track that Neijiaquan was inherited from Shanxi to Wenzhou and then to Ningbo is clear, and the track that Neijiaquan develops up to this day in Ningbo is also clear; the heyday of Neijiaquan in history was the period from Jiajing in the Ming dynasty to Huangbaijia in the early Qing dynasty; the modern development difficulties of Neijiaquan include the impact of foreign advantageous culture, competition from other traditional Wushu boxing varieties, and its dissimilation from modern competitive Wushu; the opportunity it faces is the emerging of the worldwide intangible cultural heritage protection movement. In the future, Neijiaquan’s foothold in the Wushu community is its cultural value, while its realistic value is conducive to the inheritance and development of traditional Wushu culture in the process of cultural power construction.
