Abstract: “Wushu, surnamed Wu, named Shu, born in China”; if the nature determination and orientation here were inaccurate, it would be very difficult to discuss its inheritance, development, popularization and spreading. We must, under the precondition of facing the reality, seriously collate traditional Wushu’s causal basis and existence condition, and grasp the possibilities of its self orientation and evaluation in cultural prevailing. We can discuss its social and cultural nature from such aspects as the operation connotation of that “Wushu itself is a body technique” coming from the environment dealing with “activity regions being mostly rivers and wildness”, “cultural attribute actually belonging to Chinese ancestry” etc. As a body corresponding operation technique, it is totally unfolded in multiple directions according to individuals’ own life value, and with the help of body movement, directly embodies such life mechanisms as metabolism, need satisfaction, stimulation response, and ever changing and developing. Its critical points are to exceed one’s own wishful thinking of egoism, to emphasize sacrificing oneself to obey others according to specific circumstances, and to focus on the objective possibility of environmental conditions con-straining multi-party interaction under the precondition of seeking the cause in oneself, and lastly, to eliminate dis-similation, to return to nature as returning to oneself; thus to differentiate it from body education, competitive per-formance, body art, military actions and religious experience.
