| （1.School of Physical Education，Jilin University，Changchun 130012，China；2.President Office，Jilin University，Changchun 130012，China) Abstract: Starting with the connotations and composition elements of culture, the authors interpreted the connota-tions and composition elements of sports culture, carried out an in-depth analysis on the epochal character and 7 motivations of sports culture, interpreted sports culture’s modern changes in terms of such 5 composition elements as symbol representation, value judgment, standard expectation, restrictions and material culture, from such 5 as-pects as representation meaning, judgment meaning, expectation meaning, restriction meaning and tangibility meaning, and carried out realistic contemplation on sports culture at such 4 levels as practicality, advancement, needs and progressiveness.
