Abstract: Based on the grounded theory, the authors carried out an in-depth interview with 3 famous physical edu-cation teachers in Zhejiang province, and based on initial coding, focus coding, axial coding and theory coding, the authors formed a 4-characteristic, 4-dimension and 8-index professional attainment connotation structure of famous physical education teachers in middle and elementary schools in Zhejiang. The 4 characteristics and 4 dimensions refer to fervent professional emotion and motivation, sound education conception, updated professional knowledge, smartly used professional ability, etc; the 8 indexes respectively refer to professional development motivation, pro-fessional emotion, education conception, practice conception, professional physical education knowledge, education disciplinary knowledge and other related cultural knowledge, physical education teaching ability, research and in-novation ability, etc. The 4-characteristic, 4-dimension and 8-index professional attainment connotations of famous physical education teachers in middle and elementary schools in Zhejiang are highly consistent with the “Zhejiang Spirit” characterized by “always striving for better self, indomitable, innovative and practical”.
