Abstract: Based relationship contract theory as the perspective, starting with legal attribute study, the authors analyzed the effect form and effect relationship of US professional sports collective bargain agreements, and probed into their inspirations to Chinese professional sports labor relationship. Professional sports collective bargain agreements, should abide by the stipulations of the US labor law and antitrust law as superior laws, and enjoy labor exemption from the antitrust law; the ef-fect of collective bargain agreements is higher than that of athlete individual labor contracts, also higher than that of internal regulations of the leagues and clubs. At the present stage, The opportunity for Chinese professional sports to implement the collective bargain agreement system has not come yet, but China can give labor autonomy to single event sports associations in China, specify the effect of labor autonomy regulations, realize the united “co-governance” in which industrial autonomy is combined with state governance, in the mean time, take the contents and provisions of professional athlete individual labor contracts as part of labor autonomy regulations, strengthen the management of individual labor contracts. With the accelera-tion of professional sports institutionalization reform, and the perfection of aspects such as laws, policies, system design and social environment, the professional sports collective bargain agreement system can be expected in the future.
