（School of Leisure Sports and Art，Shanghai University of Sports，Shanghai 200438，China) Abstract: Based on the perspective of sports form, the authors explained causes behind European competitive sports uni-versality, hoping to provide theoretical reference for sports culture development in other civilization circles. The authors drew the following conclusions: the independent presentation of European competitive sports forms established the ulti-mate value of competitive sports to human beings; the standardization of European competitive sports conception forms founded universal principles for the specific practice and execution of competitive sports worldwide; the technicality of European competitive sports organization forms created the clear bearing bodies of group competitive sports behaviors, which is greatly conducive to its worldwide popularization. Therefore, ultimate value, execution principles and bearing body confirmation give European competitive sports the universal “vitality” in other civilization circles.
