Although some players’ naturalization procedures are nearly completed, there are still a quite a number of people questioning the legitimacy of naturalization based on ethical and legal factors etc. From the perspective of the background of sports globaliza-tion, player naturalization meets ethical requirements because it does not violate sports spirit and does not involve in ideology, is legally legitimate because it does not violate other normative documents such as domestic and foreign laws etc, and conforms to economic rationality because its overall earnings are higher than costs; therefore, player naturalization does not have theoretical obstacles. In terms of player naturalization path selection in the future, the internal management system should raise naturalization standard, so as to minimize the impact of player naturaliza-tion on the domestic football talent selection system and management system.
