(School of International Education,Wuhan Sports University,Wuhan 430079,China) Abstract: The author expatiated on the profile and running mechanism of British School Sport Partnerships (SSPs), de-scribed and analyzed 6 SSPs with respective features and their common characteristics in a case manner, and on such a ba-sis, put forward their 6 inspirations to elementary and middle school sports development in China: (1) integrate interscho-lastic and school-based sports resources, form a school sports development group, develop sports courses and sports activi-ties jointly, form interscholastic sports education connections; (2) establish horizontal cooperation with teenager sports training institutions and social sports organizations, establish a complex multidimensional school sports development sup-port system; (3) actively promote sports models with outstanding individual abilities, fully exert their demonstration effects and charisma; (4) perfect and clarify the path of development from school sports to community sports, establish a trinity (school, community and family) sports network by basing the pivot on “sports homework”; (5) make targeted adjustments to various links in sports teaching and activities, promote sports education equalization; (6) pay full attention to cultivating student’s healthy personality and comprehensive quality.
