(School of Marxism，Wuhan Sports University，Wuhan 430079，China) Abstract: The protection of athletes' privacy right faces double risks in the digital age. On the one hand, it is the particularity of athlete's right of privacy compared with natural person's right of privacy, such as the combination of nature and professionalism, the combination of privacy and publicity, and the combination of offline and online behavior patterns. On the other hand, a series of technical challenges are eroding athletes’ privacy rights faced by them. The two aspects above have formed a great influence and profound challenge to the current legal protection system of athletes' privacy right. In view of these, it is high time to reconstruct the system of athletes data information concept, build a collection mode for typed data information, and realize dynamic negotiation with athletes in data processing, in order to fully grasp the balance between the quality of digital sports development and athletes’ privacy protection, and perfect the current legal system of privacy protection in China.
