The results show that network media use has a significant positive impact on residents' sports participation behavior, but excessive media use will reduce the probability of residents' sports participation. The impact of network media use on residents' sports participation behavior had significant regional and class heterogeneous effects, that is, the impact effect on the sports participation behavior of middle, western and rural residents was significantly higher than that of eastern and urban residents; and the impact effect on middle and low-class groups was significantly higher than that of upper-class groups. This paper holds that it is of great practical significance to accelerate the popularization of Internet in China and promote the deep integration of network media and sports to improve the fairness of residents' participation in sports.
