(School of physical education，Central China Normal University，Wuhan 430079，China) Abstract: Using the methods of historical analysis, based on first-hand historical materials such as archives and letters, combined with newspapers, periodicals, books and other relevant documents, this paper makes a textual research on the historical event of China's participation in the 1924 Paris Olympic Games. Gray, Honorary Secretary Far Eastern Contest Committee, played a leading role in China's participation in the 1924 Paris Olympic Games. In 1924, with the Far Eastern Contest Committee as the official organization, he successfully reported the names of Chinese tennis players W. Lock Wei，H.H.Khoo，W.U.Szecheung and N.G. SzeKwang. Due to personal reasons of tennis players, they didn't go to the Paris finally. China's participation in the 1924 Paris Olympic Games led by Gray objectively promoted the connection between China and the Olympic Games and the process of Chinese sports moving towards and integrating into the world sports stage. At the same time, the whole process of China's participation in the 1924 Paris Olympic Games also reflected the sports games organization and management problems.
