(School of Chinese Martial Arts,Beijing Sport University,Beijing 100084,China) Abstract: During the development of ancient Chinese history, people in different eras and cultural backgrounds created body cultures displaying various forms of physique techniques. Because of its graphical form and various expressions, Han dynastic paintings accurately recorded the different types of physique techniques of people in the Han Dynasty and became an important reference for academics to study the physical movement culture in sports history of the Han dynasty. This paper finds that in the sorted Han dynastic paintings represented by stone reliefs, brick reliefs, and tomb murals, the physique techniques presented by them are mainly divided into three types: handstand physique technique, Han dynastic jiu-jitsu physique technique, and continuous handstand physique technique, and each type has different forms of technique that reflect its own characteristics. Through the interpretation and analysis of different types of physique technique of Han dynastic painting images, we can have a clearer understanding on the meaning of body cultural of the Han dynasty. The unique expression of people's view on body culture of the Han dynasty reflected in the Han dynastic paintings is actually the exquisite presentation of the Han dynasty's sports techniques, the oriental discipline of body aesthetics, and the unique expression of the concept of entertainment. At the same time, it is also a view of cognition of the body culture reflected through the display of physique techniques by people of the Han dynasty.
