(1.School of Physical Education,Hengyang Normal University,Hengyang 421002,China; 2.School of Physical Education,Hunan Normal University,Changsha 410012,China; 3.Department of Physical Education,Guangzhou Medical University,Guangzhou 511463,China) Abstract: The professional certification of physical education teaching is an important institutional guarantee for the construction of physical education teachers inChina, which is conducive to strengthening physical education major construction, and optimizing the structure of physical education teacher education in universities, and reconstructing physical education major training standards. At present, the professional certification of physical education teaching is faced with many realistic barriers, such as lack of authority, low degree of recognition, insufficient degree of implementation, and weak discrimination. The study proposes that a continuous improvement of professional certification standards and system construction to enhance the authority of the professional certification of physical education teaching; guiding universities to actively participate in accreditation to enhance the recognition of the professional certification for physical education teaching; introducing social organizations to participate in the professional certification of physical education teaching so as to promote the synergy of multiple forces in school operation and governance; and strengthening the elimination function of the professional certification of physical education teaching and adhering to the constant construction mechanism of combining assessment and construction. This paper tries to provide several rational suggestions for the improvement and optimization of the professional certification of physical education teaching for Chinese universities.
