(Department of Physical Education,Shanghai Jiaotong University,Shanghai 201100,China) Abstract: This study uses the method of literature, interview, and logical analyses was used to deeply identify the connotation of curriculum ideological and political construction of physical education courses in universities, and comprehensively examine the macro reference basis for the extraction of curriculum ideological and political elements of public physical education courses in universities. On this basis, combined with expert consensus, value leading, moral cultivating, professional quality, humanistic spirit and sports character are established as the five major categories of the ideological and political elements in public sports courses in universities. And also based on this, relying on the guidance of the "project group theory", the ideological and political elements in public sports courses in universities have been systematically constructed, and combined with the public sports courses of Shanghai Jiaotong University to make an analysis of the application of the practice of the ideological and political construction, so that to provide theoretical guidance and practical reference for the construction of ideology and politics in public sports curriculum in universities.
