(Institute of Physical Education,South China Normal University,Guangzhou 510631,China) Abstract: To observe the effects of intense exercise on aerobic endurance after intense exercise, 20 basketball players were divided into two groups as follows: 10 male basketball players athletes, 10 female basketball players athletes. Oxygen consumption (VO2), pulmonary (VE), blood lactate (BLa), heart rate (HR), T(testosterone),Cor (cortisol) and Hb (hemoglobin) were obtained during an incremental exercise test to exhaustion on a treadmill for 20 subjects. The results were as follows: 1) The ATs (anaerobic thresholds) were increased significantly after exercise in two groups than that in before exercise, but not their VO2.2) The Hbs were increased significantly after exercise in all groups than that in before exercise, whereas T and Cor were not significant different between before and after exercise. It is concluded that the level of VO2max can be kept by this intense exercise. The AT (anaerobic threshold) may play an important role in aerobic endurance exercise.
