(College of Physical Education,Hunan Normal University,Changsha 410012,China) Abstract: The authors surveyed the current situation of the cost of reform of physical education system in China from the point of view of institutional economics,and considered that the reform of physical education system currently carried out in China was a compulsive reform controlled mainly by the government and provided with escalating nature, and that its costs for smoothing the conflicts in the system reform and seeking for a rent were increased. The authors brought forward the strategy to reduce the cost of reform under compulsive system reform.
