The authors drew the following conclusions:Step test index has a poor performance in reflecting endurance effectively, and cannot reflect cardio-pulmonary functions of the human body correctly; it lacks in scientific and rational basis to select either step test or 1 000 m/800 m run as the cardio-pulmonary function evaluation index and thus carry out comprehensive evaluation on an individual.
