| （Partment of Physical Education，Suzhou Kindergarten Teacher's Academy，Suzhou 215008，China） Abstract: The cultural attribute of basketball has been recognized, but a generally recognized definition of basket-ball cultures has not been formed, and there are divergences in the study of the concept and structure of basketball cultures. There are more and more researches on such basketball cultures as NBA, CBA and CUBA, especially on professional basketball cultures, but most of the researches are theoretical researches, there is a lack of empirical study, and the research methods and means are undiversified. The authors suggested that when we study basketball cultures in the future we should refer to the knowledge in such areas as science of culture, sociology and sociology, and make a lot of more efforts in empirical study.
