| （School of Physical Education and Health，East China Normal University，Shanghai 200241，China） Abstract: The author introduced the theoretical status of the Neo-Marxism school in western sport sociology, expa-tiated on the effects of Marxism, Leninism and Frankfurt schools and 3 theoretical schools of the body view in phe-nomenology on the Neo-Marxism school in western sport sociology, and divided the views of scholars of the Neo-Marxism school in western sport sociology into European Continent and North America forums according to theoretical features and regional characteristics, and specifically described their different research contents, research orientations and focuses, as well as the integration of thoughts in the two forums by Pierre Bourdieu later, a sociolo-gist in France. Lastly, on the basis of retrospection, the author dissected theoretical flaws of the Neo-Marxism school and its active functions in the development of sport sociology in China in terms of ideological analysis and theoretical system construction.
