| (1.Department of Physical Education, Foshan Institute of Science and Technology,Foshan 528000,China;2.Department of Social Sports, Foshan Sports Bureau,Foshan 528000，China) Abstract: The authors introduced the current situation of sports industry in Foshan city, analyzed problems existed in sports industry in Foshan city, and offered the following proposals: changing government’s functions; correctly handling the relationship between sports “sponsoring” and “governing” by sports departments; seizing the opportunities to uplift sports industry in Foshan city to a higher level; depending on resource advantage to boost industrialized sports operation; sports industry should introduce a great number of operating and managing professionals, enhance operating and managing performance, and strengthen affecting power and competitive strength of this industry.
